About Ashling HR

Ashling HR was founded in 2020 by Joanna Smithers after a fourteen year career working in various HR roles within corporate businesses in London.  Joanna started her career in recruitment, moving on to generalist HR roles and specialising most recently in reward, benefits and employee engagement, gaining her CIPD qualification in 2014.

After a move back to  her home town of Chichester in 2019, it became clear that there was a demand amongst SMEs for a flexible, outsourced HR service that would fit with their budgets and individual needs.  Not all businesses can justify employing an HR advisor, so that’s where Ashling HR comes in. 

We bring the expertise we have gathered working for large organisations to help you benefit and grow your business in a compliant and productive way. 

Outside of work, Joanna enjoys spending time with her family in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex, but particularly sailing and boating around Chichester harbour.
